Leaflet Printing – Creating a Professional Flyer

Leaflet printing is expensive. You can save hundreds of dollars creating a leaflet flyer yourself. Having a professional graphics designer create one for you can cost a a lot, but with todays wide variety of graphic software and office software for the computer you can easily create your own. Since leaflet printing is an important part of any business marketing plan and almost a necessity, why not save some money?

If you have Microsoft Office installed, you should have Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher. Both of these programs have predefined templates that serve as a guide to help you create your own flyer. There are many options to choose from when selecting the clip art to include in the flyer. Be creative and follow a logical flow for the purpose of the flyer.

If you are looking for a professional software application to create you flyer with, you should use Adobe Photoshop. Here are some guidelines when using Photoshop.

When creating or designing your flyer for leaflet printing using Photoshop, set the canvas size to the correct size of the leaflet, do not forget to included the bleed. The bleed on a flyer for leaflet printing is a little extra around the edges of the flyer. When the printing company cuts out the flyer the bleed area will be removed. This is important so the printing company wont remove part of your flyer during the printing process by accident. You usually need around a 1/8 inch bleed on a leaflet flyer. With that being said, if you decide to print flyers that are a full page, 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches then you need to add another 1/8 inch around the edges of your design. So the total size will be 8 5/8 inches by 11 1/8 inches. Use this size for your Photoshop canvas size.

Once you have your leaflet flyer completed, you can choose from any of the online printers or a local printer to print your flyer. Do some comparison shopping as you will soon see the prices vary, but not significantly. If you are searching using Google, take a look at the ads displayed on the right hand of the page. I have found some really good specials for print leaflet flyers.
